A competence-oriented training aims to develop professional action capability and aligns with the qualification requirements of the job market. Vocational training models that focus on learning as part of the work process are seen as guarantors for low youth unemployment in Europe. The volume describes approaches for this training model, which were collected as part of the TrainCom project. The "European Alliance for Apprenticeships" has been supporting reform in vocational training in Europe since 2013. TrainCom and the information and learning platform developed within the scope of the project, which illustrates competence-oriented vocational training practices, are part of the Alliance. The EU-funded project TrainCom was coordinated by the Research Institute for Vocational Education and Training (Forschungsinstitut Betriebliche Bildung - f-bb) in conjunction with five partner institutions in Austria, the Czech Republic, Spain, the United Kingdom and Italy, with two enterprises from the automotive industry supervising the project from a business standpoint.
