The project DoQ - Basic Education Qualification Dortmund (Dortmunder Grundbildungsqualifizierung) was initiated in an effort to offer basic education qualifications to counteract the lack of skilled workers. The objective was to develop pedagogical-didactic concepts for a work process-oriented basic education that satisfies the requirements of employees and employers alike. The volume describes the conception phase of the project from the definition of a workplace-oriented basic education to industry selection and an analysis of the work processes in the selected companies. The second part outlines the development of company-specific curricula and the development of strategies for the introduction of basic education offerings in participating companies.
