The model project "Offene Hochschule Niedersachsen (OHN, Open University Lower Saxony)" opens the Universities at four model locations for students who do not meet the traditional University entrance requirements, but who are professionally qualified. The acknowledgement of competences eases the access to the studies and in addition to specific courses for those in employment provisions from adult education are integrated into the University education. This book presents the results of the cross-University model project. At all locations students were interviewed in relation to their requirements and expectations of the Universities as well as their professional ambitions. The analysis of these interviews allows for a differentiated and often surprising insight into this special group of students.
