On the labour market there is a lack of skilled staff in all sectors. Modular additional qualifications for semi-skilled and unskilled labourers are an important component to fill this gap. With the BMBF (Federal Ministry of Education and Research) project "Abschlussorientierte modulare Nachqualifizierung" (graduation-oriented modular additional qualification) the basis for a realisation on a regional level was created. The contributions to this anthology inform about the strategies and components required for the realisation of additional qualifications provisions on a regional level: the public relations work, the networking of educational providers, consultancy offers as well as financing and support models for disadvantaged adults. There is a focus on the contributions of migrant organisations. The "Anerkennungsgesetz" (acknowledgement law) opens up new opportunities on the skilled labour market to people of migratory backgrounds; and such opportunities may be improved with the incorporation of regional additional qualifications.
