The Background Story of An American Marriage

Tayari Jones is an American professor and writer who is a Hurston-Wright Legacy Award winner. She has written very remarkable books and bestsellers proving her talent as a writer and her ability in her genre. Jones went to Spelman College and it was while at this college that she started writing and where she met Pearl Cleage, who helped her a lot when she published her first novel. Subsequently, she completed her master's degree at the University of Iowa and then attended Arizona State University. In the postgraduate years, she taught creative writing at several universities and has also been involved in writing more novels, including of course, An American Marriage.
