White Man's World: BWWM Romance

Alexis knows what she wants, sacrificing everything for the chance to become a fashion designer with Burberry. She sits there with several other ones vying for the same position, and hoping they see something in her that they don’t see in the others.

“You look nervous, and I’m guessing that this is your first time going out for one of these positions. Just be yourself, and try to give them an honest look at who you are, and I’m sure that everything will work out just fine.” Edward had been through too many interviews to count, and although he was comforting her he secretly wished she would fail.

“I appreciate what you’re saying, and I have to tell you that I feel little bit better.” Alexis was wearing an outfit that she had made herself, thinking that maybe if they saw her talent that she would get the position just for that reason.

“I know a little trick... all you have to do is take a deep breath, hold it for a couple of seconds and let it out slowly. Then I want you to visualize that they are going to give you the job.” Alexis did what Edward said, feeling the butterflies subside, enough that she was able to calm himself down for the interview.

Her name was called, and she went in to see that there were several people surrounding the conference table. This was not something that she was expecting, and she felt a little like a deer in the headlights. “Alexis, we have gone over your portfolio, and for the most part we believe that you would be a good fit here. However, we wanted to give you the chance to come in and plead your case.” She did what Edward had mentioned, and she was suddenly very professional, going around table and placing various designs that they hadn’t seen yet.

“As you can see, I have been working towards this for as long as I can remember. I know I’m not your average candidate, but I hope you can look past my lack of experience to see my true talent. You will see that I am wearing one of my creations, and I would like all of you to have a look and tell me what you think.” Every chair turned around, looking at her dress that on first inspection looked like it was two pieces, but in reality it was just one.
