Three Shaky Little Fables - Gianfranco Mammi - ebook
Opis

Here are three great little stories, a ramshackle collection of fairy tales for clever children to read. The first story is about two penguins, husband and wife, who quarrel and disturb the peace of the Antarctic continent until the famous scientist Panettoni arrives. Then there is a guide to gentle dinosaurs that didn’t scare anyone and were also quite nice to look at, and finally there is the story of a young airplane who faces the dangers of an ocean crossing for the first time, with a surprising ending.

A TALE OF TWO PENGUINS

Carlo and Francesca are two penguins who can never agree, even by mistake. When one wants to go right, the other wants to go left and vice versa. They’ll fight for a quarter of an hour, then they’ll remember that at the South Pole it doesn’t matter if you go right or left – it’s neither here nor there. So they stay where they are, except Francesca wants to think, but Carlo likes to sing.

“How can I think if you keep on singing? At least sing in key!”

“Why? Do you think standing there thinking is a better show? You look like a badly made statue and you're driving me crazy!"

After a long while and a lot of quarreling, they are both so tired that they have no desire to either think or sing, and then a little peace falls over the South Pole.

Finally it’s time for lunch. Carlo likes fish, while Francesca wants a chocolate sundae. But Francesca wants to be spiteful and eat all of Carlo’s fish, and Carlo wants all of Francesca’s chocolate sundae. Then they open the refrigerator and see it’s empty. They quarreled for nothing. At that point Francesca wants to telephone Snowball Supermarket to do a little shopping. Instead Carlo wants to call Ice Mart, which he says is cheaper.

“How can it be less expensive when it’s four thousand miles from here! How can that be cheaper?”
