The Mountain Giants of Yukon

Part 1

It is the year 1900, and I have been living in Yukon for 15 years now. Since my wife passed away five years ago, the nights seem to grow lonelier and colder by the day. But there is something else out there, something else lurking in the forest and mountains of this region, which is a far greater menace than the bitter-sweet melancholy taste of solitude in this very much untouched wilderness. There is something very malign and evil roaming the northern part of Yukon, and I have heard reports of people vanishing from time to time.

If I am not mistaken, not very far from Dawson City, the place where I am currently living in, but not only several reports of people gone missing, have made me aware, that there are extraordinary things going on in the forests and mountains of this area –– no. There are also the tales of the Métis and Inuit, who, in great detail, describe beings. Beings, who can best be perceived as redhaired giants. Giants, who are carnivorous or should I better state cannibalistic in nature. This may be the reason why some of the parts of Yukon have always been avoided by the native people.
