CHAPTER 1

Introducing the Rottweiler!

Just because the Rottweiler is a big, muscular breed doesn’t mean that these dogs don’t have a heart of gold. I can personally attest to the fact that the Rottweiler breed is as friendly, loving, and goofy as they come! Although these dogs have a reputation for being guard dogs and watch dogs, they also make great family pets. If this is new information to you, then you have a lot to learn about Rottweiler dogs!

I am the adoring owner of a Rottweiler myself, and Rusty has been my loyal friend and companion for five years now. I adopted him as a puppy and we have grown together over the years, and our friendship has grown stronger with each passing day. I can confidently stay that I don’t know where my life would be without Rusty in it, and I am certain that I don’t want to find out!

Rottweilers are an amazing breed, but I must admit that they aren’t the right choice for everyone. These dogs grow large and they can sometimes be handful when it comes to training and socialization. If you are willing to put in the time and effort, however, it is worth it. Once you form a bond with your Rottweiler dog, you will have his love and loyalty for life. Not only will he be your friend, but he will be your protector as well. There is nothing he won’t do for you!
