Part One - Rising Tension

Chapter One

CH 1/Scene 1 – When Atwood, the housekeeper robot, comes out of the closet at 6:00 a.m. precisely to prepare Tom’s breakfast, he is surprised to find suitcases standing in the hallway. He was not advised that Tom was planning to take a trip anywhere. Atwood likes to be informed of everything that might concern his tasks directly or indirectly. Organizing a trip for Tom is definitely on his list of tasks. Unhappy, he goes about his duties. He begins by turning on the espresso machine and getting an assortment of fruit and yoghurts ready on the counter, from which Tom will choose his breakfast. Next he takes the loaf of bread he baked the night before, cuts a couple of slices and puts them on a plate beside the fruit spread. The breakfast is now ready, but neither Tom nor Hal are anywhere to be seen.
