EXCERPT FROM ‘AN IMMIGRANT’
With a sudden brake, the speedy fancy car stopped at the red light. The screech of the tires, braking hard on the asphalt, penetrated and shook the windows of the building, which had been erected on the corner of the street over fifty years ago.
The loud noise disturbed the residents’ dinner. However, it wasn’t the first time when something like that happened there, so, with a mere headshake, a sweet word or a shrug, they went right back to it.
They didn’t even bother to go and look outside. It wasn’t their business, after all. They had their own petty squabbles over the overcooked potatoes or over the shopping spree in which the lady of the house had indulged that day.
The man at the wheel glanced at the traffic stop grimly, and waited for the green light, drumming his fingers nervously on the wheel. He brushed his mussed hair back and rubbed his jaw with impatience.
It seemed a long wait, longer than usually, and he was in a hurry. His pants had become a tad tight since a while back.
He never lacked anything in the imagination department when it came to women. Yet, this time, his fantasy had already gone rampant and way too far. That was why, he felt like he was about to explode on the spot now.
Blood hummed in his veins and he throbbed everywhere. He needed some release and in a bad way.
He wetted his feverish and dry lips with an impatient flick of his tongue. He yearned for any kind of relief, and fast.
The rain hadn’t made it easier on him either. It had been pouring all afternoon and he’d had enough of that. It had strained his patience and now, his forbearance had already reached its thin side.
The wet road didn’t allow him a higher speed, although he was about to tear at the seams. He didn’t think that crushing into something would help with his problem.
In the red light, raindrops glimmered on the windshield and reflected the wet pavement in the glass.
To cut his wait shorter, the man turned to the young filly seated next to him, and the fingers of his right hand coasted along her exposed thigh.
She had lounged there on the seat since they started out from the restaurant. Her long legs were slightly spread, and her position taunted him to touch her.
She looked like she was twenty years younger than he was and just fresh from the classroom. That was a powerful combination for his system, although he knew for a fact that the woman was much older than that.
She had definitely been around the block a few times already, but he didn’t really care about that. He enjoyed her appearance of innocence mixed with experience. Sometimes, appearance was enough to enflame his desire.
The woman had awoken some primal instinct in him and he couldn’t fight it back. She had bewitched him so badly that even her somewhat annoying giggles didn’t bother him so much.
She had left him with the impression that she was in awe with him, and although he usually didn’t believe in such things, he did believe her. That was probably because he knew that she couldn’t have another objective in mind.
She didn’t care about his financial power. She had enough money herself so she clearly wasn’t thinking about fleecing him.
He had taken the time to check her financial status. He had already been burned a few times so he kept his eyes open now. He was a pragmatic man, after all, and money always came on first place for him.
Her wide eyes swept over him constantly, as if she had never seen that brute force he displayed beneath those coiled muscles of his arms in another man.
‘Thank God for going to the gym every day,’ he thought.
It seemed that his muscles had won her over. They appeared to be a major turn on for the former high school Miss Popularity. He had found that fact about her as well.
