Molly was experiencing mixed reactions. She was both confused and happy at the same time. There was something great about to happen, and amid the greatness, there would be a sense of loss. She sat in her office and shook her head. It was not a matter of making a decision. The decision had already been made, long before she even knew it. Letting go of her life right now was what bothered her most.
While the future sparkled with greatness, her past seemed to shine even brighter. There were regrets, yes, but her immediate past was good. Or was it? Molly was not sure.
There was a letter on her desk and she had read it a million times. She was being promoted and with the promotion came the decision to move to her company’s headquarters in New York. This move was not simple, and neither was it hard.
She had worked hard for a promotion; she had been the only regional manager who worked more than her bosses even. She managed work and school, always bettering herself to a point where she was at the top. She knew she was never going to stop until she breathed her last.
But life was getting funnier and funnier by the day. She had envisioned this move for three years. She had seen herself moving to New York for more years actually, but the reality started forming three years back. She had prepared for everything.
Everything she did was to push her towards the big office. Every contact she made was chosen carefully so that she could get to that office at the top. And it had cost her a lot of sleepless night. She had had to fight men to get there. She had had to accept defeat sometimes. She was supposed to have moved a year before but someone beat her to the punch.
