Islam is chronologically the third and last remarkable revealed religion (first two are Judaism and Christianity). Its followers, the Muslims, consider their religion the only one having received the latest and final revelation, for which reason Islamism exceed all previous revelations: the Law of Moses (that established the alliance between God and Israel’s People) and the one of Jesus Christ (at the base of Christianity). Islam, came after the two great religion revealed and introduced itself as their rectification, making religion perfect and purifying it from interpretative human mistakes. It consider itself as a return to the first religion, authentic, disfigured first from Jews then Christians. This is why even if there are some common points between the three religions, they still are unable to coexist. But this incompatibility doesn’t prevent a fruitful communication among the followers of each tradition.
Islam consider itself the latest expression of divine’s will, that cancels the older religions, limiting them to a mere preparatory to the advent of Islam. At the same time considers itself the most ancient religion of humankind, because establishes a link with the faith of Adam and Abraham (the first Muslim, because ruled by God’s will). What God started with these two emblematic religious figures, is now embraced and developed from Islamism: thus the most recent religion is also the most ancient.
The word Islam has a different denomination from other religions and it’s proud that the origin of its name doesn’t belong to an individual, a tribe or a river, differently from the Christianity (Christ), Buddhism (Buddha), Judaism (Jude’s tribe) or Hinduism (Hindu’s river). The Arabic word Islam
